Department : The Data Solutions Operating Unit (OU) is the commercial data business of Moody’s Analytics. We are best known for our Orbis database, which is the world’s most comprehensive database of public and private companies. We are also the definitive source of ratings-related data for companies and securities that have been rated by Moody’s Investors Service. There are four market-facing groups within Data Solutions: Data Applications, Data Feeds, Media Solutions, and Contributory Data Solutions. In addition, we have various strategic and operational teams that specialize in curating and sourcing data and keeping all our databases accurate, relevant, and up to date. Role/Group Data Solutions OU has a diverse array of data sources that cover every region in the world. Data Sourcing Strategy team mission is to build and maintain a strategic network of information providers to support our Content strategy and roadmap. As an Assistant Director in Data Sourcing Strategy your strategic, analytical, and evaluative abilities will support Data Sourcing Strategy in contributing to the overall growth strategy and maintaining relationships with our network of information providers. You will recommend data quality enhancements for emerging use cases. You will be a key team player in internal and external collaborations, ensuring the effective execution of our service level requirements. Key responsibilities and objectives: Conducting rigorous research of new data sets as it relates to the primary sources used to build the data set as well as an assessment of the data quality standards implemented to maintain timeliness, accuracy and completeness of dataset. Supporting in the comparative analysis of Licensing, Building, and Buying options for sourcing data on a comprehensive scale. Evaluating the outcomes of tests, reports, and procedures linked to content quality improvements to pinpoint necessary data quality enhancements. Collaborating with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to establish service level requirements and their implementation strategies. Crafting and carrying out surveys and other research methods to maintain an updated inventory of data sources, their origins, and potential alternatives. Supporting in the creation of detailed, country-specific reports to respond to client inquiries on data source transparency. Assisting in the preparation of client-ready materials for discussions or presentations on topics related to Information Providers. Experience and Background Minimum five (5) years of experience in an analytically-oriented role preferably in the data industry Familiarity with the broad world of company data Minimum bachelor’s degree required Strong evidence of being self-disciplined, highly organized, able to multi-task, and attentive to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to take on new assignments and projects as opportunities arise Self-starter approach, capable of working independently with minimal supervision, but also a team player who thrives in collaborative environments.
