Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our acute stroke and neuro team. This role involves working closely with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide comprehensive assessments and tailored treatment plans for patients in an acute inpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough Occupational Therapy assessments for acute stroke patients
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
3. Collaborate effectively with MDT members and ensure accurate documentation
4. Manage a dynamic caseload, prioritizing patient needs for timely and safe discharges
5. Prescribe adaptive equipment and aids to enhance patient independence
Key Requirements:
1. Hold an Occupational Therapy degree (MSc or BSc) and full HCPC registration
2. Minimum of 12 months NHS experience in an acute stroke/neuro setting
3. Evidence of relevant stroke/neuro-specific training
4. Strong understanding of stroke conditions and Occupational Therapy models
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
6. Proficient in managing caseloads and computer literate
