Vacancy: Site Manager
Unite People are working alongside a specialist construction contractor to hire a Site Manager for a variety of new build industrial, commercial, and mixed-use development projects, all of which include civils and infrastructure packages.
Initial projects will be based in East Yorkshire. You will have the opportunity to work on both privately funded and government framework schemes, including healthcare, education, and highway projects.
The successful individual will be self-motivated, forward-thinking, and possess experience in successfully leading a team to deliver build and/or refurbishment projects, preferably with experience in steel frame, modular, or traditional build projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Management:
* Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects from start to finish.
* Ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.
* Manage the relationship with the sub-contractors onsite.
* Drive the project programme.
* Plan work ahead to maintain project pace.
* Ensure an efficient monitoring and registration process for site staff.
Team Leadership:
* Lead and motivate project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and other construction professionals.
* Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
* Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals and expectations.
* Delegate responsibilities to site staff.
Quality Control:
* Maintain high-quality standards throughout all phases of construction.
* Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Commercial Acumen:
* Monitor and control costs, budgets, and commercial expectations onsite.
Required Qualifications & Training:
* CSCS Card
* SMSTS
* First Aid
* Proven experience managing new build industrial projects, including slabs, bases, groundworks, and externals.
* Strong people management experience.
* Ability to deal with conflicting priorities and challenging stakeholders and/or subcontractors.
* Strong people skills.
