4281 - Lead Technician - Medicines Safety & Training
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, innovative and dynamic pharmacy technician to join our team in an exciting new role.

We are seeking a proactive individual preferably with an ACT qualification and additional hospital pharmacy and management training. While experience is valued, we are equally interested in candidates who show a willingness to learn and grow. Training and support will be provided to the successful candidate.

You will be required to contribute as needed to a clinical and operational pharmacy service within the Trust. A requirement to participate in the late night, weekend, and bank holiday rotas will be necessary.
Main duties of the job
The Lead Technician Medicines Safety and Education & Training post is a pivotal role in the delivery of all aspects of the trust wide medication safety agenda as well as the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs within the pharmacy setting.
This post is a joint role with a 50/50 split between Medicines Safety and Education & Training. You will be working alongside the Education & Training Lead pharmacist and the Medication Safety Officer/Governance Lead pharmacist, who will support and guide you.
As a registered Pharmacy Technician, the post holder will be expected to work within the professional standards of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

Experience
* Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
* Experience in delivering education and training.
* Experience of providing feedback and reflecting on own practice.
* Significant experience post qualification to include previous hospital experience.
* Advanced computer keyboard/labelling skills requiring accurate data input working within narrow margins of error.
* Knowledge of ward/department pharmacy logistics.
* Knowledge of Trust/departmental policies and procedures.
* Critical thinking reviewing or writing SOPs and policies.
* Formal role in design and provision of education and training.
* Project Management.
Qualifications
* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* NVQ3, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent.
* Extended role checking technician (or fulfills the criteria to undertake training).
* Management Training or experience.
* Additional qualification in teaching such as NVQ Assessor.
* Education supervisor training.
