Are you a Care Home Manager looking for a change? Or perhaps an experienced Deputy looking to step up?
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic manager to oversee the running of a brand new 4 bedroomed residential home supporting teenagers / young people with Learning Disabilities and / or Mental Health needs.
The successful candidate will:
Need to be enthusiastic, self motivated, flexible and resilient with previous experience of using active support models to encourage independence and give young people a voice.
Have excellent communication skills including knowledge of non-verbal communication methods.
Be able to demonstrate leadership skills and an ability to manage, motivate and mentor staff, encouraging their personal development in line with the needs of the individuals we support.
Hold (or be close to completing) a QCF level 5 in leadership for health & social care services (or equivalent qualification) as recognised by Social Care Wales to meet the standards required to register as a children’s care home manager.
Have experience of liaising and developing professional working relationships with individuals’ family members, health care professionals and other stakeholders.
Be ambitious for the young people we support.
HOURS OF WORK:
Working hours are generally from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the service. Additionally, you will be required to participate in on-call duties on a rota basis, for which extra payment will be made.
CRITERIA:
Training and Qualifications
Essential: QCF L5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care Services or equivalent.
Desirable: Training qualification or willingness to obtain one.
Experience
Essential: Proven management experience in a relevant care setting.
Essential: Prior experience in a similar environment and with individuals exhibiting occasional behaviours of concern.
Essential: Experience with people with complex needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health problems.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential: Basic knowledge of regulations governing the sector (RISCA, Social Care Act).
Desirable: Level 3 Safeguarding.
Other Factors
Essential: Physically fit, driving licence, ability to work flexibly.
Essential: Capable of leading a team to provide person-centered care and support to young people, promoting their well-being and enabling them to achieve their full potential.
Essential: Enthusiastic, self-motivated, able to take responsibility.
