The role of Housekeeper is challenging, but very rewarding, and one where you are in the enviable position of being able to take time to speak with our patients, and help with their recovery by offering our hydration and nutritional offering to them. Full Training will be given, including Allergen training, and on all of our meals, there may even be some food tasting Our Housekeepers, help keep the ward clean and tidy in line with the National Cleaning Standards, record fridge temperatures, collate patient meal orders via an iPad, deliver patient meals, and drink services, assisting patients with meal ordering and dietary requirements, Working a part of a team is paramount in this role, but be prepared for busy days, and rewarding days in this role. Please be aware that our Housekeepers hours are between 0700-2000 7 days a week, 365 days a year, typical shifts are 0700-1330, and 1600-2000, shifts do differ due to the service area so flexibility is key. Due to the nature of this role, applicants will need to be over 18 years of age prior to commencing in this role Main duties of the job To provide a Housekeeping Service The aim of the role is to provide a clean and safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors and to contribute to preventing and reducing the spread of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAIs). To communicate effectively with patients, including patients who may have behavioural issues, challenging behaviour or severe communication difficulties work colleagues and visitors throughout the process of delivery of the service and at all times respecting dignity and confidentiality. The role: Housekeepers will be expected to demonstrate a flexible attitude to their work to meet the needs of the service. Maintains a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, as defined within the National Specification of Cleanliness. Prepares and presents patient meals and beverages in inpatient areas in accordance with Food Hygiene procedures.
