Well, I am working with a leading food manufacturer who offers an exciting and dynamic career experience, engaging within a fast-paced environment where innovation and quality are paramount. They are currently looking for an NPD Account Manager to run the accounts for the new and growing business they have just acquired.
Responsibilities:
* Manage focused development of new products to deliver the required margin for our customers and the business, including the completion of development costings within agreed commercial, technical and customer briefs and timescales.
* Work closely with Commercial Manager and Category Team to understand the market and the consumer and support the delivery of Category Reviews.
* Create new and innovative products in line with agreed business plans & market developments, showing a real flair for food & culinary trends. Thus ensuring a position of market leader rather than follower.
* Excite and inspire the customer and the business with innovation that delivers
* extraordinary growth and profit.
* Challenge existing products and processes, upgrading where necessary.
* Effectively manage the development process from concept origination to product handover meeting all deadlines both internally and externally.
* Ensure self is up to date with culinary trends via shopping trips, travel, restaurants, exhibitions, market reports, visiting places of interest, reading food journals & magazines to improve culinary skills and knowledge of foods.
* Maintain knowledge of comparative products from all major retailers. Keeping internal & customer teams up to date with new launches of competitor products.
* Act as the guardian of food values and continually monitor product quality of new and existing lines.
* Guardian of food values on site and continually monitor product quality.
* Support site Operations and Technical teams with one off projects driving cost out / quality improvements / improved efficiencies.
Qualifications/Skills:
* Degree / HND in Food Science or equivalent work experience.
* Experience in food manufacturing and product development.
* Currently working in the FMCG industry with experience in supplying major multiples; experience with short shelf life/chilled products is ideal.
* People management experience.
* Strong ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated and ambitious with a “can-do” attitude.
* Good communication skills at all levels.
* Attention to detail.
* IT Skills: Proficient in Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and web-based systems.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* High energy level, comfortable managing multi-faceted projects aligned with day-to-day activities.
* Excellent influencing skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
