Job Title: Manufacturing Team Leader

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Manufacturing Team Leader to join an ever-growing Healthcare Packaging company who provide innovative, custom-designed packaging solutions for the medical device and pharmaceutical industries.
In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes within a dynamic production environment. You will ensure that all team members adhere to health and safety procedures while producing goods that meet specified quality standards efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with safe working practices at all times, including appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Familiarize yourself with health and safety procedures, work instructions, and relevant documentation while actively promoting a culture of safety.
2. Collaborate with the Shift Performance Manager to deliver high-quality products through the effective implementation of WCOM and Lean Manufacturing practices.
3. Achieve production targets within the specified time frame while maintaining adherence to quality system standards.
4. Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain smooth operations.
5. Keep the team informed about Gainshare metrics and performance indicators.
6. Oversee quality inspections conducted by manufacturing personnel, addressing minor quality exceptions promptly and escalating unresolved issues to the quality representative.
7. Coach, mentor, and develop team members through performance appraisals, disciplinary procedures, absence management, and succession planning.
8. Facilitate effective team communications and meetings, providing constructive feedback and performance updates through visual management techniques.
9. Utilize SAP for problem-solving in an accurate and timely manner.
10. Ensure adherence to production schedules, making necessary adjustments in collaboration with planning to optimize efficiency.
Essential Criteria:
1. A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
2. Proven track record of taking initiative to improve performance and compliance with health and safety standards, demonstrating strong leadership capabilities.
3. Willingness to work rotational shifts as business needs dictate.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Experience with SAP software.
2. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
