Salary: £23,868 per annum Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. You'll work 1950 hours per year. Interview Dates: 10th and 12th March 2025 We’re currently undertaking our pay review process and it is likely that this salary will be increased from 1st April 2025. What it's like to work here Reporting to the Head Chef, you'll be part of a team of around 50 members which is a spilt of front of house team and kitchen team. You'll help manage a kitchen team of 5 and a team of baking volunteers. You'll responsible for placing food orders, food safety, training of team members and help with the day to day running of the kitchen and Blickling hub which helps support the other properties within Norfolk with cakes and bakes. This role will be physical and demanding as you'll be lifting and manual handling. The layout of the kitchen is long with stairs, so there will be lots of walking and moving around. What you'll be doing Your main focus is the kitchen, a busy and creative hub. You’ll be working within the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’ to prepare delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors. You’ll help to build a great place to work, which includes showing empathy and giving support to team members when needed. The aim is to foster a positive spirit where everyone is focussed on giving the best possible service to visitors. By maintaining high standards of food hygiene and COSHH procedures, you’ll minimise risks to visitors, staff and contractors. We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.
