The Mai-Wel Group has been providing a diverse range of disability services to residents of the Hunter Valley for almost 60 years. What began as a group of local families coming together to provide education and opportunity to their children has today developed into a thriving business supporting more than 1,500 participants across seven Local Government areas.
Job Description
With experience in supporting individuals to explore various industries in the Hunter region, both through trial work opportunities and within the businesses at Mai-Wel, you will understand the importance of fostering a supportive team environment that equips individuals with the necessary skills.
When it's time for your clients to transition into award-paying jobs (open employment), they are there to provide dedicated assistance. Their network of local employers and the post-placement support they offer ensure that they are available for their clients even after they've successfully secured employment.
Desired Skills and Experience
In order to be successful in this role you will need:
* Have a desire to work with people with a disability.
* Ability to act as a role model and guide co-workers to work consistently and efficiently to meet participant needs.
* Well developed written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft applications such as word, excel, outlook.
* Current Drivers Licence & comprehensively insured vehicle.
* Current First Aid Certificate (with CPR)
