The Role
As our Project Director, this is a crucial day-to-day role within our team as the lead for interagency collaboration and will bring workstreams and projects together within defined timings.
It is a lynchpin role, managing internal teams and working closely with partner agencies while feeding the details back to the BAT project leads. You will be a trusted adviser when it comes to organisational best practices and work with the team to ensure risks and issues are resolved quickly.
You will take responsibility for the overall coordination of all workstreams, development and performance of our fellow agency workstreams, as well as support, lead and push projects through stage gates.
This is a 6 month FTC with potential to extend.
About You
Internally called Orchestration Lead, the Project Director will have experience in a similar role working on digital asset development projects for large fast-paced clients. With a passion for digital across paid, owned and earned channels, you'll have a deep understanding of the digital landscape, trends, and technologies.
You’ll need to develop an excellent understanding of the client’s business, brands, and processes in this specific category, ideally with some past experience in the sector.
A brilliant juggler, you are able to manage a multitude of different projects at once while proactively anticipating issues and sticking to tight deadlines. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong organisational skills, and always be ready to roll your sleeves up and get involved where needed. You’ll be aware of the bigger picture of the total account and share best practices with the team and the client. You understand the micro versus macro and can easily switch between the two, understanding what to delegate and where to apply your focus in order to drive a multi-brand program of work across a myriad of delivery teams.
You enjoy a challenging and ever-changing environment, and reorganising and reprioritising does not phase you. You know when to let something go if it means a win down the line. You can maintain excellent client, external agency, and internal team communication, ensuring all parties are kept up to date on project status and implications regarding delays.
We are looking for a confident and effective communicator who enjoys building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, who can stand up for what’s the best plan and stick to it, bringing a wider team along with you as you go. By quickly gaining trust, authority, and respect from the client at all times, you will strive to exceed their expectations.
Responsibilities
* Lead projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time and all relevant parties have seen the output.
* Anticipate creative challenges and think outside the box to provide an environment for creative solutions for agency partners while also keeping the project on track.
* Control the flow of information and communication to effectively manage a multi-brand program of work.
* Be the point of escalation, empowered and trusted to make decisions when a project is facing difficulties, with strong relationships with senior clients and Beat people.
* Day-to-day oversight of the overall orchestration team (within this one account portfolio).
* Define responsibilities, set direction, and allocate roles within this team.
* Lead best practices within your team to deliver high-volume, multi-channel productions – managing deliverables and approvals as required with relevant parties.
* Have visibility of upcoming briefs and chase BAT on briefs where required.
* Develop further Ways of Working and processes within the team and with BAT as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience in working in a fast-paced agency or consultancy environment.
* Proven ability to work well under pressure, with a high degree of flexibility and fluidity, while maintaining an objective-focused and positive approach.
* Extensive experience managing programs of work for blue-chip firms/clients.
* Team player with top-class interpersonal and communication skills.
* Managed relationships at a senior level within large corporations; comfortable working with senior management.
* Proven client management abilities to negotiate scope and finances.
* Proven organisational skills.
* Very strong meeting facilitation skills.
* Ability to run client meetings of up to 20 people on multiple subject areas and projects.
