What do we look for in a Solutions Architect? We are looking for an experienced candidate that can lead the development and implementation of solution architecture for complex projects within the Defence sector, ensuring they meet our customer's requirements and technical standards. The role of Solution Architect covers a range of specialisms and therefore we will consider applicants who have some of the following exposure: Working alongside Defence stakeholders to understand and document their requirements and translating them into technical architectures at project and enterprise scale - including creation of business, application, data and technology architecture viewpoints to support creation of enterprise solutions e.g. using TOGAF, Lean Six Sigma Six, Agile, Systems thinking. Design end-to-end workflows that incorporate multi-source intelligence data, satellite imagery, and real-time data streams into unified platforms. Evaluating target architecture, platforms, tools, processes and applying relevant data standards, policy and dataflow management processes. Analysing technical and business risks associated with solutions and developing mitigation strategies. Identify and evaluate emerging technologies in AI/ML, GEOINT, and data analytics to ensure solutions remain cutting-edge and mission-ready. Lead cross-functional teams in implementing scalable, secure, and interoperable systems, ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards. Presenting solutions to customers, stakeholders, and senior management. Supporting business development and bid writing through development of architectures and specifications that support wining proposals that are aligned to our engineering capability. Requirements This role will be client facing and successful candidates are expected to work in a dynamic fast paced consultancy environment. You will have a degree in a science, computing or engineering subject, or equivalent experience as well as professional qualifications in a relevant discipline. A background in Solution/Enterprise Architecture or a similar and have applied this skillset while working for a consultancy, services provider or systems integrator. Proven track record in designing and delivering MoD data or GEOINT solutions, including working with classified or sensitive data environments. Experience with on-prem (e.g. VMWare) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) is essential. Strong understanding of MoD core systems, geospatial platforms (delivered through PICASSO) and remote sensing tools (e.g., SOCET GXP, RemoteView). Successful candidates will require experience or aptitude for leading or contributing to bids and understand SAFe Agile delivery within a Defence Digital programme. Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
