What will the role involve?
This is a Group role, working collaboratively with a team of three other ledger leads and a ledger support to collectively oversee the smooth day to day running of the Group’s ledgers. It is expected that this Ledger Lead will own the purchase and subcontractor ledgers for Cameron Homes Limited. The post holder should have relevant experience in a similar role working in the house building sector and be able to ensure tasks are being done in a timely, accurate manner with robust procedures developed and implemented.
Key role responsibilities
Technical Duties
1. Completing ledger tasks in a timely and accurate manner, in line with deadlines, with a focus on Purchase and Subcontract Ledgers.
2. Maintaining accurate vendor data for all trading subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
3. Working closely with the Group Finance Manager, who is responsible for completing VAT and CIS checks.
4. Support with processing of any urgent one-off payment requests.
5. Matching of invoices to purchase orders and delivery notices.
6. Ensuring subcontractor payments are made to the timetable on a fortnightly and monthly basis.
7. Developing close working relationships with Commercial colleagues to raise and resolve any ledger/invoice queries.
8. Completing Purchase ledger statement reconciliations.
9. Other adhoc tasks as reasonably required.
What we expect from you:
1. Must have a proven record of working in a relevant ledger role. Experience in House Building or Construction highly desired.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with people at all levels both internal and external to the business.
3. Able to work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy.
4. Drive and enthusiasm to contribute to a high performing team with the right procedures and processes in place.
5. Have a keen eye for detail and to be able to be flexible and prioritise own workload.
