Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Ward Clerk positions within the Division of Medicine on either a part-time or full-time basis. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced ward clerks who support delivery of excellent patient care by providing administrative support to the nursing and clinical teams across all wards. These posts are to support the Rehab and Elderly Medicine directorate and will primarily be based at Sunderland Royal Hospital. Each post is up to 37.5 hours per week and the successful candidate will be expected to work predominately Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 6pm, although occasional weekend working may be required to meet service need. Maths and English (or numeracy and literacy skills) are essential for the post therefore please ensure that these are listed on your application otherwise you will not be shortlisted. Demonstrate an empathetic nature towards patients, relatives and colleagues. Possess excellent communication and organisational skills. Be resilient and able to prioritise tasks / competing demands. The post is very active and requires movement around the hospital with potential cross site cover and you will be required to cover various wards.
