Job Title: Shopfitting Foreman

About the Role:
We are looking for a Shopfitting Foreman with a strong joinery background to oversee and manage shopfitting projects across the leisure, hospitality, and retail sectors. This role involves significant travel, as you will be leading and supervising multiple sites across the country, ensuring each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
As the Site Manager, you will play a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of each project. You will lead a team of skilled tradespeople, manage subcontractors, and work closely with clients to ensure their expectations are met, while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Management: Oversee the execution of nationwide shopfitting projects in leisure, hospitality, and retail environments. Ensure that all sites operate efficiently, meeting deadlines and adhering to project specifications.
2. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate on-site teams, including joiners, carpenters, labourers, and subcontractors. Ensure high levels of performance and craftsmanship are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Quality Control: Ensure the highest standards of work are consistently achieved across all sites. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship and compliance with specifications and client requirements.
4. Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction. Foster strong client relationships throughout the project.
5. Health & Safety: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to, conducting risk assessments, site inductions, and regular safety checks. Promote a culture of safety on-site.
6. Project Planning & Scheduling: Plan and coordinate project timelines, ensuring efficient use of resources and materials. Ensure that any delays or issues are promptly addressed to keep the project on track.
7. Procurement & Materials Management: Oversee the procurement and delivery of materials, ensuring all required items are on site when needed, and managing stock effectively.
8. Budget Control: Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring costs are kept within the agreed limits. Report on financial status and manage any changes to the scope of work.
9. Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and oversee the work of subcontractors to ensure their work aligns with project requirements and quality standards.
10. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate site documentation, including daily reports, time sheets, material logs, and safety records. Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
Skills & Qualifications:
1. Joinery Background: Proven experience as a joiner or carpenter with a solid understanding of shopfitting techniques, materials, and processes.
2. Previous Site Management Experience: Demonstrable experience in site management, ideally within the shopfitting, construction, or related industries, with experience in leisure, hospitality, or retail sectors.
3. Strong Leadership: Ability to lead, manage, and motivate diverse teams to deliver high-quality results.
4. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
5. Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues, with the ability to think on your feet and keep projects running smoothly.
6. Health & Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
7. Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
8. IT Skills: Proficient in using project management software and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and documentation.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. CSCS Card: A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card is essential.
2. SMSTS or SSSTS: Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) qualification is highly desirable.
3. First Aid Certification: First Aid at Work certification is a plus.
4. Experience in Large-Scale Projects: Experience with complex, high-end fit-out projects in the leisure, hospitality, or retail sectors.
5. Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel nationwide, with potential overnight stays depending on project location.
