Special Needs Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a motivated and caring Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team of succesful educators at Protocol Education. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher and SENCO to support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in their learning and development.
Responsibilities:
1. Supporting students with SEND on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
2. Adapting and modifying learning materials and resources to meet the individual needs of students with SEND.
3. Monitoring and recording student progress and providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
4. Assisting with personal care needs where necessary.
5. Helping to maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment for students.
6. Collaborating with other professionals, such as occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and educational psychologists, to support the needs of students with SEND.
7. Participating in training and professional development opportunities as required.
Requirements:
8. Previous experience of working with children with SEND.
9. A good understanding of the different types of SEND and associated teaching strategies.
10. A caring and patient approach to working with students with additional needs.
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
12. The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
13. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
