Band 3 Health Care Assistant - 22.5 hours per week
The band 3 will be generic to cover a variety of speciality clinics namely, Colorectal, Cardiology, Rheumatology, Renal, respiratory & upper GI.
The HCA will be expected to set up/close down the various speciality clinics and have extended skills, e.g., venepuncture, ECG recording, basic observations, BM monitoring, and spirometry.
The successful individual needs to be approachable, flexible & keen to learn. They should have an understanding of the Trust's values & expectations and present themselves in a professional manner at all times.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assisting registered nurses (or other healthcare practitioners) in providing high-quality patient care.
2. Maintaining patients’ privacy and dignity at all times and providing care in a compassionate and sensitive manner.
3. Being an effective part of the multi-disciplinary team contributing to departmental objectives.
4. Developing and maintaining competencies in nursing tasks to ensure high-quality safe care.
5. Contributing to housekeeping and other ward/department duties as required, e.g., ensuring general tidiness, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring clinical equipment is clean, working, and stored correctly.
6. Contributing to the work of the department by working under direct or indirect supervision of registered practitioners or assistant practitioners.
