There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK's largest house builders. Our Group Head Office, located in Woolsington, is looking to recruit a Senior FP&A Accountant to join the Division's finance team.
The Role
The role of Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Accountant reports to the Group Financial Controller.
Principal accountabilities of the role include:
1. Support in the production and delivery of the existing suite of management reports, ensuring information is delivered accurately and on time.
2. Continually look to challenge existing reporting solutions and develop innovative and insightful new reports and analysis.
3. Working cross-functionally, support the rationalization of reports across the business.
4. Manage ad hoc data requests, ensuring that data is collected, analyzed, and reported accurately and efficiently.
5. Partner with Heads of Department to provide 'expert' support in the analysis and interpretation of data within their function.
6. Whilst working with Heads of Department, identify and implement efficiencies relating to the reporting of information within their function.
7. Assist in the management and preparation of the Group Annual Budget.
8. Work on ad hoc projects as required, working both as part of a team and independently.
9. Identify risks and develop solutions to enhance the control environment both within the FP&A department and the wider Group.
10. Support in the integration of new reporting software as required.
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Experience
1. Extensive post-qualification experience, working in a reporting role at mid-management level.
2. Experience in developing and maintaining complex Excel-based models.
3. Knowledge of VBA and/or SQL is desirable.
4. Experience of developing dashboards in BI tools such as Microsoft PowerBI is desirable.
Qualifications and Training
1. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
Skills and Aptitude
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
2. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Excel and PowerPoint.
3. Methodical with a strong attention to detail.
4. Focused on meeting deadlines and will 'go the extra mile' to ensure compromises are not taken to achieve them.
5. Enthusiastic, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
6. Ability to work cross-functionally to ensure the needs of all stakeholders are met.
