As a key function of the INEOS Energy Trading team, trading operations is accountable for the logistics planning and execution needed in physical trading deals. It is critical to ensure that all safety requirements and the 3C’s obligations are met (Contractual, Compliance, and Commercial).
The Vessel and Voyage Operator plays a pivotal role in ensuring that a chartered voyage is effectively optimized and executed. Front to back office processes must run smoothly, and valuable data and information must be collected, entered, and validated in a timely manner to allow effective management and oversight of the deal lifecycle.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
* Adhere to all safety regulations and SHE principles.
* Ensure all vessels on INEOS Energy business are vetted and locations are vetted as per charterers' liabilities.
* Operate all INEOS Energy chartered vessels globally in line with charterparty and vessel limits.
* Develop INEOS Energy voyage orders and operate vessels accordingly.
* Develop a vessel performance framework.
* Develop a bunkering strategy and ensure vessels always have minimum fuel onboard.
* Coordinate with owners' vetting, flag, class, OEM crew, etc., and SIRE inspections as required.
* Execute any cargo manifests and inspectors’ details as required for commercial operators.
* Monitor strategic relationships and update internally on any maintenance or operational events as appropriate.
* Nominate inspectors if required and prepare all terminal clearances and instructions for the vessel.
* Enter voyage data and information into systems of record within appropriate timelines.
* Support demurrage, ancillaries, and demurrage negotiations.
* Understand vessel specifications, specifically for LNG cargos.
* Manage terminal relationships with loading masters, agree on loading schedules and parameters, and ensure vessels arrive within pre-arrival/load parameters.
* Oversee voyage cargo conditioning, boil-off, fuel switch, and ensure systems of record accurately reflect cargo volumes during the voyage.
* Oversee weather routing systems.
* Develop partnerships and maintain external relationships with ship owners, brokers, terminal, and pipeline operators.
* Identify areas for standardization, simplification, or automation within the INEOS Energy Group.
* Disseminate relevant shipping regulatory information around the teams and back up for Head of Operations as Emergency Crisis Manager.
* Represent INEOS Energy at various events/networks as required.
Skills, Experience & Education
Experience & Education
* Minimum of 2 years in a shipping role, operating Clean, Dirty, and LNG.
* Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
* Knowledge of relevant industry regulations.
Technical Skills
* Working knowledge of vessel design and operating limits.
* Working knowledge of shipping regulatory frameworks and networks (OCIMF/INTERTANKO/SIGGTO/MACN, etc.).
* Working knowledge of tank cleaning, contamination, vessel pipeline structures, and loading/discharge limits.
* Working knowledge of terminal management (MTMSA).
* Working knowledge of trading/shipping contracts (e.g., MSPA, ISDA, BPVOY5, SHELLtime2).
