Your public health expertise will influence, advise and provide action to Council, NHS and other Wigan partners for a range of public health priorities including improvement, protection, resilience, climate and addressing health inequalities. You will enjoy bringing forward opportunities for change, promoting innovative thinking based on data analysis and research that informs decision making, best practice and transparency. About you: You will have knowledge of specialist public health work acquired through relevant degree plus additional training or experience to master s level or equivalent and be registered, or willing to work towards registration, with the UK Public Health Register. The ideal candidate will have in depth knowledge and understanding of evidence based public health practice, relevant statutory requirements and proven commitment to addressing health inequalities along with an understanding of current health policy and systems. The ability to lead teams, coach a culture of achievement via inspiration, engagement and motivation of colleagues to achieve quality and high performance of the best outcomes for residents, using asset-based solutions, will be fundamental.
