The department is very well resourced with two specialist rooms, two Food Technology teachers and a dedicated Food Technology technician. Food Technology is delivered as part of Key Stage 3 Design and Technology curriculum. It is offered as a Level 1 / 2 Technical Award (NCFE CACHE) option at Key Stage 4 and is a popular choice. The subject is also at the leading edge in the delivery of a new vocational skills-based course, for our new pathway at KS4 (alongside Art and PE) which provides opportunities for students to develop a range of key skills, which are internally assessed. Post 16 development is being explored via T-Levels.
