Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer V-Recruit are excited to be working in partnership with a leading, reputable, and growing food manufacturer company, to recruit an experienced Mechanical / Electrical Engineer, to join their Pontefract site as soon as possible, on a permanent basis. You will be working with mechanical and electrical production equipment in a highly automated factory, and your key responsibility will be to ensure that all planned, re-active and project activities are conducted in a timely manner whilst being done safely. Duties to include; You will be responsible for attending breakdowns within the factory and reacting quickly to the matter at hand to ensure the smooth running of the production line and appropriately communicating the handover to the engineering Team. Must be good at diagnosing faults and taking corrective action to ensure continuous service and identifying further improvements to increase equipment availability. Correct and report any hazardous situations encountered. Ensure planned maintenance work is completed on time and any further work required is communicated to the Engineering Manager. Must take full responsibility for signing out all stock consumables to ensure stock is replenished in a timely manner preventing stock outs therefore managing business risk. Must take responsibility for contractors’ control whilst on site and ensure full compliance with internal policies and procedures. Be able to demonstrate teamwork, due to working closely with members of the engineering and production team. Hours of work: 40 hours per week rotating 3 shifts, days, afters and nights (current off peak pattern) Peak pattern - 3 on 3 off. 3 days, 3 off, 3 nights, 3 off soon and so forth… Candidate requirements: Minimum of 5 years’ experience of being a qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer ideally within a food related discipline Education in engineering discipline, minimum HNC mechanical/electrical, NVQ level 3, or city and guilds electrical or equivalent qualification. Mechanical bias preferred as 80% of work is mechanical but you must be willing to undertake basic electrical training provided by our client A good understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering, refrigeration systems, food safety legislation and HACCP. Attention to detail, a flexible approach and a strong work ethic are expected, with the ability to work unsupervised within a fast-paced environment. Salary specifics - £51,267.90 per annum (for peak pattern 42.1 average hours) £47,652.80 per annum (for off peak pattern 40 hours per week) £916.40 per week current off-peak pattern 40 hours per week (days) £22.91 per hour Night shifts allowance, an additional £1.35 per hour.
