We are seeking a Project Cost Controller with a strong background in cost management, financial analysis, and project controls. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage the financial aspects of complex projects, ensuring that costs are monitored, reported, and controlled in line with project budgets. The Project Cost Controller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cost Control & Monitoring:
o Oversee project budgets, track costs, and report on financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
o Monitor cost trends, perform financial forecasting, and ensure that the project remains within budget.
2. Financial Reporting:
o Prepare and present regular financial reports for project management, highlighting any variances from the budget and proposing corrective actions.
o Work closely with project managers to review financial data, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support decision-making processes.
3. Cost Estimation & Forecasting:
o Assist in the development of project cost estimates and help in the preparation of cost forecasts.
o Conduct cost analysis to ensure that project expenditures align with original estimates and budgets.
4. Contract Management Support:
o Support the review and negotiation of project contracts, ensuring that financial terms and conditions are in line with cost control requirements.
o Monitor supplier and subcontractor invoices and payments, ensuring compliance with agreed contract terms.
5. Collaboration & Risk Management:
o Collaborate with project teams to identify financial risks and develop strategies for mitigating these risks.
o Provide financial input and support during project meetings, highlighting areas of concern or improvement.
6. Cost Reporting & Compliance:
o Ensure all cost control activities are in compliance with company policies and industry standards.
o Provide accurate and timely cost data for audits and other financial reviews.
Required Qualifications:
1. Education:
o A four-year degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Experience:
o At least 5 years of experience in project cost control, cost management, or financial analysis.
o Experience working in a project environment, preferably on large or complex projects.
3. Skills & Expertise:
o Strong understanding of project cost control principles and practices.
o Proficient in project management software and financial analysis tools (e.g., MS Excel, Primavera, SAP, Oracle).
o Ability to analyze and interpret financial data to make strategic recommendations.
o Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
Qualifications:
1. Certifications:
o PMP, CAPM, or AACE certifications (e.g., AACE-CCC, AACE-PSP) are a plus.
2. Software Knowledge:
o Familiarity with project management and financial software tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and SAP.
3. Additional Skills:
o Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
o Experience with cost forecasting and reporting in a project-driven environment.
