Job Description:
The Area Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the support team within a designated area. The manager will also be responsible for managing the Hoist and Sweeper resources, ensuring they are working safely and productively to support the Service Delivery Team. Additionally, they will oversee the overall wellbeing of all engineers within their area. Travel across a wide region will be required. The Support Service Manager will play a key role in developing MJQ’s working culture, reputation, and values. The position will be field-based covering the South of the UK including Devon, London, Maidstone.
Your role will include:
* Reporting directly to the General Manager for On the Day, managing the support services team within budget constraints while seeking every opportunity to reduce costs and maximize revenue growth.
* Ensuring all team members are skilled, kitted, and accredited to the standards expected by the client.
* Managing the performance and continuous improvement of team members through development, recognition, effective communications, field visits, and SPEQ safety checks.
* Ensuring that each team member is aware of the team, their individual targets, and is committed to achieving them.
* Working safely and responsibly within MJ Quinn’s values and operational policies to avoid harm to yourself, those around you, and our communities.
Technical Expertise & Service Delivery:
* Managing the local area to ensure Service Delivery targets and cost benefits are realized.
* Identifying opportunities for multi-skilling and cross-project working to deliver the most efficient and effective field structure across MJ Quinn.
* Ensuring allocated work is completed on the day and to customer satisfaction standards at minimum cost without compromising quality or safety.
* Ensuring all work executed is booked off correctly.
* Ensuring safety and quality checks are carried out in accordance with MJ Quinn policy.
Experience:
* Managerial experience in a similar role (Telecommunications industry essential).
* FTTP / Copper background.
* Knowledge of the BT Openreach Network.
* Holding a full UK driving license (no more than 6 points).
* Computer literate.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients.
* Willingness to undertake relevant training and development.
