Monarch Education are working with a Primary School in Bolton who are looking for a part-time SENCO to start in January 2025. This role will be long-term, until the end of the academic year. The school are looking to appoint a part-time Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all students with SEND receive the necessary support to thrive academically and personally. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Leading the identification and assessment of students with SEND Ensuring that EHCPs are in place and regularly reviewed Collaborating with class teachers to ensure effective differentiation and support strategies Providing professional development and guidance to staff regarding SEND provision Working closely with parents, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students Monitoring and tracking the progress of SEND students to ensure they are making good progress Ensuring that all legal and statutory requirements related to SEND are met Leading and managing a small team of teaching assistants and supporting their professional development The school welcomes applications from experienced SENCOs, as well as teachers with relevant experience in SEND who are looking to take on a leadership role. The National Award for SEN Coordination is preferred, but the school is open to applications from candidates who are working towards or willing to undertake the qualification.
