Nicholas Associates are working with an established client within the groundworks and civil engineering sector to recruit a Buyer to join their team on a permanent basis. This role will be based in Birmingham and will involve work within Residential groundworks Projects.
Buyer Roles and Responsibilities
1. Oversee the entire order process.
2. Review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends.
3. Follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.
4. Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements.
5. Perform commercial analysis on suppliers to develop more efficient processes and cost-effective solutions.
Requirements
1. Experience in an Assistant/Junior Buyer position with a Groundworks Contractor.
2. Computer literate including Microsoft Office and confident in managing and working with large data sets.
3. Experience in purchasing, inventory, or supply chain management.
4. Eager to learn and develop, with a good attitude.
5. Good data interrogation skills.
6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This role would be suitable for an Assistant/Junior Buyer who is looking to make the step up to Buyer/Intermediate Buyer.
