Applicants should have a willingness to mentor and supervise medical placements
Flexibility to work across the week required.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. As a member of the team the successful candidate will be expected to set an example to others, assist in education and training and to play a full role in target achievement and service development. Participate in the weekly on-call duty doctor arrangement essential along with the ability to work flexibly.

The practice utilises EMIS WEB, EPS, ICE & AccuRx messaging.
Park View Surgery and Park Medical practice have a collaborative working arrangement and the successful candidate will be required to work at more than one site.

Clinical Responsibility
Inaccordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselvesavailable to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations,telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking andsigning acute and repeat prescriptions, home visits, medication queries,electronic results, referrals, associated paperwork and correspondence in atimely manner.
Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within theorganisation.
Assessthe health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems.
Screeningpatients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Inconsultation with patients and in line with the current Practice diseasemanagement protocols, developing care plans
Toassist in the establishment of appropriate systems to manage common chronicmedical conditions
Providingcounselling and health education
Recordingclear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
Collectingdata for audit purposes
Prescribingin accordance with the practice prescribing formulary.
Ingeneral the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working in Primary Care.
