Purpose
As a CNC Setter, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components that meet precise specifications. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Background
Our client is a well-established manufacturing company who specialise in advanced application equipment. They are seeking a motivated CNC Setter/Operator to join their skilled team in Poole. There are alternating weekly shifts:
Week 1: Monday – Friday, 6.00 am – 2.00 pm (37.5 hrs)
Week 2: Monday – Friday, 2.00 pm – 10.00 pm (37.5 hrs)

As a CNC Setter, your responsibilities will include:
Setting up and operating CNC machines, including lights-out running
Following machining processes to ensure components meet precise specifications
Conducting self-inspections of finished parts using precision measuring equipment
Collaborating with team members to optimize production and resolve technical issues
Escalating machine malfunctions to minimize downtime
Logging daily output targets and identifying issues with potential solutions
Maintaining and improving 5S standards in the cell
Knowledge and Skills Required as a CNC Setter:
Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a manufacturing environment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
Proficiency in using precision measuring equipment
Certification from a machining program or apprenticeship (preferable but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
