Senior Clinical Fellow in Knee and Revision Arthroplasty

This post will be principally based at Colchester but may have some clinic responsibilities in Ipswich. The successful applicant will work for 2-4 knee arthroplasty/revision Clinical Supervisors depending on their specific interests. The Educational supervisors will be Mr. Tim Parratt and Mr. Rhidian Morgan-Jones. The role will develop educational and experiential knowledge and skills in post-CCT level surgery, with comprehensive exposure to the full spectrum of knee arthroplasty surgery, including robotics, revision, and infection. ESNEFT is a designated Major Revision Centre for Revision Knees.
Main Duties of the Job
The post-holder will:
* Work with colleagues to provide a service with the highest standard of care.
* Collaborate with the multi-professional team to develop care pathways and clinical guidelines.
* Develop and maintain good working practices within wards and outpatients.
* Promote close working links with colleagues in tertiary centres, community services, and primary care.
* Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues, nursing colleagues, and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Job Responsibilities
Duties will include:
* Clinics and theatre sessions with consultants and some independent (supervised from a distance) sessions.
* Ward rounds in ESEOC.
* Some shared rota ESEOC weekend lists/ward rounds but not formal out-of-hours on call.
* Participation in informal and formal teaching.
* Opportunity to contribute to the on-call trauma rota (not mandatory).
* Expectation to contribute to research projects.
Person Specification
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* MBBS or equivalent.
* FRCS (Tr & Orth) or equivalent.
* ATLS or equivalent.
* Near completion or completion of Higher Specialist Training in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
* Ability to cope with stressful situations and undertake responsibility.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Team player.
* CCT or equivalent.
* Experience with Database Systems and Electronic Patient Records.
* Demonstrated commitment to a career in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
* Interest in hip/knee arthroplasty.
