Front of House Coordinator (Saturday), The London Centre, NLA NLA is seeking an exceptional Front of House Coordinator with a passion for customer service to be an ambassador for NLA as the face of our activities on Saturdays at the London Centre, our home, for all visitors and clients engaging with the space. About the role The Saturday Front of House role will work within the Venues and Events team in front of house customer service and administrative duties as the face of NLA at The London Centre for all visitors and clients engaging with the space on a Saturday. The role will support the wider NLA event team with general administrative and operational tasks. The role is ideal for a highly organised individual, with a passion for galleries and public interaction and an interest in architecture and the built environment. The successful candidate will have initiative, will be a great communicator who possesses strong customer service skills and a creative approach to problem solving with the ability to work on several complex tasks simultaneously whilst remaining calm under pressure. Terms Hours: Part-Time, 6.5 hours a week worked on Saturdays 10:30 to 17:30 (With 30 minutes unpaid lunch break). Working from our City of London office, The London Centre (our public gallery) Salary: £13.15 per hour ( holiday pay) Location: The London Centre, 3 Aldermanbury, EC2V 7HH Benefits: Holiday is paid in addition to your hourly rate of pay. Main duties and responsibilities · Opening and closing of the venue, exhibition and AV switch on/off · Management of front of desk and general enquiries · Provide Exceptional customer services to all visitors and NLA members · Telephone reception duties and taking enquiries for the London Centre and NLA, including answering questions about venue hire, events and projects · Upkeep of of house areas and exhibition gallery; taking pride in the presentation of the space maintaining an excellent standard of appearance · Working with facilities to ensure the smooth running of the venue if any issues arise on the day, or reporting maintenance issues to the Venues and Events team to pick up on · Working with the NLA Front of House team and overseeing FOH casual staff when working with you on Saturdays · Coordination and support of the Saturday event programme. Types of events include talks, workshops, walking tours and client events · Support the events team with set up of the venue for events due to take place on Monday morning What we are looking for You will have a passion for and experience of customer service, front of house and administrative duties that contribute to being an ambassador for NLA as the welcoming face of all our activities, visitors and clients engaging with NLA at the London Centre. Essential Skills & Abilities · Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written · Previous experience within the hospitality or events industry · Previous experience as Front of House staff · Proven ability to provide excellent customer service · Working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook · Ability to prioritise effectively, managing a busy diary and varied workload to meet demands and deadlines · A flexible approach in terms of work, changes and participation · Good team player · Ability to take initiative; a self-starter · Willingness to learn Desirable Qualifications and Experience · Front of House experience · Reception experience · Administration duties Not essential, but appreciated An interest in the built environment Application date Applications will close at midnight on Sunday 2nd March 2025.
