Finance Assistant Job Type: Full-time, Perm Location: Durham Salary: £27-28k My client is seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Finance Business Unit. This role is crucial for the day-to-day financial administration and offers an opportunity to support various financial matters including cash management, sales/purchases administration, and month-end accounts preparation. Day-to-day of the role: Assist the Financial Controller with all financial matters throughout the year. Maintain bank reconciliations and manage sales administration, including raising internal and external sales invoices. Provide assistance with month-end accounts preparation, balance sheet administration, and ad hoc reconciliations. Handle invoice coding and tracking, ensuring approvals are sought where required. Perform ad hoc reconciliations and analysis as required by the Financial Controller. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 2 years' experience working within a finance function. Strong understanding of accounting processes and procedures, with experience working across multiple areas of a finance function. Experience operating accounting software. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Desirable: Experience with month-end procedures and reconciliations, and in preparing or assisting with month-end accounts preparation. Key Competencies: Highly motivated and able to meet designated timescales. Diligent, well-organised with high attention to detail. Capable of working independently and managing daily requirements. Methodical and pragmatic approach to tasks. Strong interpersonal skills and able to maintain strong working relationships across the business.
