We are currently looking for flexible, adaptable, and reliable Bank Domestic Assistants who may already have some experience working within a hospital or care setting, to work as part of our friendly and growing team.
You will become part of a dedicated team who are passionate about supporting the NHS and its staff in their vital work by keeping premises clean, safe and hygienic. Bank contracts are great for those who need a bit more flexibility or an ideal opportunity to come in and try a role to see if it suits you before looking at a permanent contract.
Successful candidates will be expected to work across the Basingstoke site, carrying out services in a professional, efficient, friendly and polite manner.
If invited to interview, you will need to bring photo ID with you and must complete and pass a skills test in order to proceed to interview.
Main duties of the job
What would you do?
1. Vacuum cleaning; mopping; dusting; cleaning mirrors, baths, showers, sinks, toilets; washing of tiled surfaces and paintwork; walls and ceilings; emptying and cleaning bins; replenishing paper towels, toilet tissue, and hand soap dispensers.
2. If you are working in a ward, you will usually have additional duties such as washing up and cleaning the kitchen, helping to serve drinks, and some basic laundry duties.
What experience and skills do you need?
1. You do not need to have any experience as full training and support will be provided.
2. We are looking for people with the right values who want to make a difference and play a part in the provision of excellent care to our patients.
3. You will need to have a good basic level of English because you may need to speak to patients, visitors, and staff in a healthcare environment, as well as reporting any issues and keeping basic records.
Typical Shift times are 7.30am to 3.30pm, 12.00 midday to 8.00pm, 5.00pm to 8.00pm, or 10.00pm to 5.50pm to 1.30am over 7 days per week. Some flexibility with these hours may be offered.

Training & Qualifications
* Good general education at GCSE level or equivalent.
* NVQ or Customer care training.
Experience
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
* Knowledge of manual handling and health and safety regulations.
* Knowledge of Infection Control procedures.
* Experience working within a healthcare environment.
* Experience in using floor machinery.
Skills & Abilities
* Autonomous application of knowledge, skills & experience.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, ward staff, and Domestic Team.
* Ability to work well as part of a team.
Other Specific Requirements
* Will be willing to work flexible hours, pressured workload to meet organisational needs.
* Occasional need to support service across site for escalation and training purposes.
