British Antarctic Survey (BAS) is looking for an outstanding CPO Deck (Bosun) to join the crew of the RRS Sir David Attenborough. BAS delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. We employ experts from many different professions to carry out our Science as well as keep the lights on, feed the research and support teams and keep everyone safe!

You’ll be joining a close-knit team of the RRS Sir David Attenborough as it carries out scientific research across the polar regions. The ship is world-leading in its scientific capabilities and regularly carries out science trials across the world with a driven focus on the Antarctic regions.
Within the role, there will be an opportunity to develop role-specific skills to complement your time on the ship. There will also be standard training provided that is specially developed for Polar travel.
