We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a day-to-day basis in a school located in Erdington, Birmingham. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs, helping them to engage fully with the curriculum and providing individualised care and attention. Key Responsibilities: Support students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities. Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, ensuring all pupils are actively engaged and supported. Provide one-to-one or small group interventions, tailored to the needs of individual students. Help with behavioural management and maintaining a positive learning environment. Foster independence and encourage students to take part in activities. Observe and monitor student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher. Support students during breaks, lunchtime, and in extracurricular activities as required. Key Requirements: Experience working with children, preferably with SEN students. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. An understanding of the needs of students with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other special educational needs is desirable. A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs or Teaching Assistant (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is an advantage but not essential.
