The role: This position will suit someone with at least four years’ experience in a corporate credit control team within a large company. What you’ll be doing: Owning some Business Unit ledgers to follow up on all aspects that ensure the book ageing is limited: Working proactively in managing the ledgers and collecting any overdue debts by phone and email to customers Investigating and resolving inbound customer queries that are preventing payment Putting accounts on hold as and when required Ensuring all contact details, direct debit details, payer status and other information is always up to date in the finance system Sending copy invoices and statements where required, resolving “no PO, no Pay” customer accounts Customer account reconciliations to match credits etc Providing the sales team with debtor updates in clear, standardised format and answering queries Working as a second person on other ledgers to cover holidays etc and ensure each book has cover, including working on inbound queries for the largest business unit Ad hoc mini projects within credit control to enhance the efficiency of the processes in place, with direction from the manager Supporting the manager in a range of ad hoc matters that crop up to help resolve them. We’re looking for someone who: Has proven background in customer experience and conflict resolution Has at least four years’ experience and success in working collaboratively in a credit control team A team player, with a positive attitude who is flexible and will pitch in as needed Is tenacious in chasing down aged debt to resolution and enjoys the challenge in this and working in an agile fast paced environment Is organised, proactive and can manage and prioritise their own workload: keeping plans and records of chasing activity and planning/diarising next steps Can work independently on their book, to drive delivery and outcomes, once manager direction and priorities are given Has high standards, cares about the quality of delivery/output and takes pride in their work: including having a ‘continuously improvement’ mindset Is a clear and strong communicator in both written and verbal form, who is confident in speaking to different people internally and within the customers’ businesses Strong excel skills and used to using this and able to navigate and sort information with ease Experience with ledgers in finance systems – we use NetSuite and training will be given.
