Stowhealth is an established GP Practice in Stowmarket, Suffolk.

We currently have a vacancy for a part-time secretary for approximately 24 hours per week. The shifts will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday working 8.30am to 5pm.
This role will require a full range of IT and secretarial skills along with excellent communication skills. While needing to be a team player is very important, an ability to work on one's own initiative is fundamental to the post.
Secretarial experience is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
To provide secretarial and administrative support to the GP's, Practice Manager, and Clinical Team to ensure the administrative burden for clinicians and team members is minimized. This will require a full range of IT and secretarial skills.
Excellent communication skills are required.
The successful applicant will be self-motivating and willing to accept new tasks and challenges. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential qualities.
Job responsibilities
The main secretarial support duties are:
1. Ensure the accurate and timely typing of clinical referrals and letters for GP's and clinical staff as requested using digital dictation and DXS. Logging appropriate details on the clinical computer system and through e-Referrals.
2. Actioning referrals on SystmOne via tasks, ensuring forms have been completed correctly and sending them either by email or via e-Referrals.
3. Dealing with phone calls from the secretaries telephone call list; AskmyGP patient enquiries, chasing referrals, giving test results, emailing information, etc.
4. Ensure the accurate and timely typing of non-clinical documents for GP's, other than clinicians, Practice Manager, and practice staff.
5. Liaising as necessary with external agencies and hospital secretaries for queries regarding arrangement for the clinical care of patients or relevant administrative matters.
6. Registering antenatal patients on the system and liaising with midwives.
7. Covering for colleagues during absence, especially holiday covers.
8. Any other duties considered relevant to the post.

* Previous medical secretarial experience an advantage but not essential for the right candidate.
