Health & Safety Advisor – field based.
I'm representing a growing industry leader in environmental monitoring solutions. They specialise in installing and maintaining monitoring equipment in challenging environments, such as sewer networks. With business expansion, they are strengthening the Health & Safety team, to ensure the highest standards of compliance and safety across operations. I'm seeking a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support teams in maintaining a strong safety culture across the business. This role will focus heavily on 'on-site visibility,' conducting audits and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policies. The successful candidate will also play a key role in supporting continuation of ISO accreditations (45001, 9001, and 14001) and other industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct site audits and inspections across UK-wide operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide on-site support and guidance to site teams, promoting a strong safety culture.
• Assist in the development, review, and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
• Support the ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 accreditations and help maintain compliance with other relevant industry standards.
• Support investigations incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending improvements.
• Deliver toolbox talks, training, and briefings to employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with relevant HSE regulations, risk assessments, and method statements.
• Assist in preparing safety reports and statistics for senior management.
• Keep up to date with legislative changes and best practices in health and safety.
Key requirements:
• Formal health and safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
• Experience conducting site audits and inspections in a construction, utilities, or engineering environment.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with staff at all levels.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for improving workplace safety.
Desirable:
• Experience working with ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 accreditation requirements.
• Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH).
• Experience in environmental monitoring, utilities, or confined space work.
