Behaviour Mentor Needed for a SEMH School in Blackpool

Position: Behaviour Mentor
Contract and Start Date: Temporary full time and ASAP
Minimum Rate of Pay: £90 a day (pay rate depending on experience and hours)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Working Days: Monday to Friday, term-time only
A Social Emotional Mental Health provision in Blackpool is looking for an experienced behaviour mentor to join their support staff. This school seeks staff to support key stage 2 and 3 students who have social, emotional, mental health, and behaviour associated needs. Individuals with a sporting background will be desirable, as this school has a key focus on sport. They are keen to employ someone who can integrate smoothly into their tight-knit team. Therefore, personality, motivation, and additional skills are important.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide opportunities to progress academically, socially, and emotionally.
* Lead by example as a role model.
* Lead sports and activity sessions.
* Understand individual personalities and needs.
* Offer guidance and mentoring.
* Have an understanding/interest in sports.
* Provide a safe environment to learn.
* Deal with any challenging or disruptive behaviour.
* Offer advice and support.
* Develop self-confidence, positive self-image, and independence.
* Be fully compliant with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working with special educational needs (career or personal).
* A passion for working within education.
* A positive, creative, and proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families.
* Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year.
To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:
* Hold Right to Work in the UK.
* Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
* Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last 2 years.
