Job title: Mechanical Engineer – HVAC Location: Scotstoun Salary: Up to £41,400 dependent on skills and experience What you’ll be doing: Enabling and implementing customer & reference ship design changes into the Stage 1 design baseline Carrying out relatively complex technical analyses and investigations, including evaluation and selection of technical options Preparing specifications and developing designs in line with specifications and all quality and technical standards Supporting and contributing to Zonal Integration (ZX) activities ensuring Stage 1 design intent is always maintained Acting as a point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas on engineering matters, to resolve issues and to maintain awareness of priorities and objectives Provide technical support to Senior and Principal team members Participating in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and the procedures in assigned areas in response to technical developments and operational need Your skills and experiences: Essential: Degree or equivalent qualification and / or experience within a Mechanical Engineering / Building Services discipline Experience with Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems design and knowledge of equipment Good communicator both verbal and written Desirable: Knowledge of Engineering Lifecycle Experience in Marine Engineering Systems (HVAC) Basic knowledge of Windchill and AutoCAD Applicants should ideally be Degree qualified or have equivalent experience, likely to be in a technology, engineering, science or IT related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution. The Canada – HVAC & Chilled Water Systems team: You will join the Canada HVAC & CW Systems Team where you will be involved in the design of Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Systems on the River Class Destroyer project. You will be supporting a design team to assess customer change, design systems, review documentation, represent your team with customer facing meetings, design reviews, work across variety of design activities, interfacing work with suppliers. Working within the HVAC & CW Systems Team you will be working on exciting projects and have opportunities for external development as well as having support towards professional registration, career development & other training opportunities.
