Job summary The opportunity has arisen for a well-motivated and enthusiastic Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist, Band 5 or 6 dependent on experience, to join the Laboratory Medicine team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. Role is a full time (37.5hrs / week) position. As a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist, you will already have an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Haematology with hospital Transfusion practice. As a Band 5, you will benefit from automatic progression to Band 6 once you have completed the Specialist Portfolio. Main duties of the job The laboratory is an IBMS registered training laboratory with a strong training ethos. In your role you will undertake day to day analysis and validation of results, together with the monitoring of quality indicators. You will participate in out of hours shifts once trained and competent in the relevant areas. Good communications skills, teamwork and an aptitude for problem solving are essential, as is a flexible attitude to work and willingness to adapt to changes in working practice.
