Due to growth, we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Logistics Officer to join the End User Computing team. The team of over 30 staff offers 2nd line ICT support services to a specific customer. A logistics officer has a key role in providing good customer service and building strong customer relationships.
This role is based at the Durham office OR we offer hybrid working, meaning that the successful candidate can work from a mixture of locations including home, NECS offices, and customer locations. Essential requirement for onsite working at the office location for all or most of the working time.
Main duties of the job
This role will be responsible for:
1. Supporting customers across the UK, providing logistics support to the EUS team.
2. Shipping out equipment to the end users in line with our KPIs.
3. Processing returned kit in line with our KPIs.
4. Monitoring the ticket queue for updates to progress tickets in line with customer expectations.
5. Contacting customers to obtain and confirm addresses and availability.
6. Monitoring courier issues and raising any issues with the 3rd party within their SLA.
7. Any other logistics duties required by the team.

Job responsibilities
1. Maintain an accurate record of all hardware and software assets including their relationships with a central configuration management database (CMDB).
2. Accurately record and check that all assets are disposed of securely.
3. Coordinate distribution and return of assets across the UK including to end user homes, business, and clinical settings.
4. Ensure stock levels are maintained at all supported sites, including the distribution of equipment between local, regional, and long-term storage locations.
5. Regularly check the CMDB to ensure the continuous accurate recording of assets and support any audit activities ongoing within the department.
6. Reconcile asset inventory information between systems including CMDB, ATP, and similar tools as used by NECS and/or customers.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree level education or equivalent qualification/experience.
Experience
* Relevant experience in a technical support role.
* Experience of fault diagnosis and rectification.
* Production of technical documentation.
* Strong planning, coordination, and logistics experience.
* Working to IT service management best practice i.e. ITIL.
* Experience of working with a CMDB, ensuring assets are recorded accurately and associated with the correct parent-child configuration items.
* Experience working towards ensuring End User Device compliance with appropriate security policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of Mobile Device Management software.
* Experience of working across organisations and with other agencies.
