About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Infrastructure Engineer to join their dynamic Business Systems department. This role involves working within the Infrastructure team to install and maintain both On Premises & Cloud infrastructure, hardware, software, and services. You will be responsible for performing BAU tasks, providing 3rd line support to the service desk, and contributing to projects deploying new services in line with best practices and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor and maintain current servers and services, addressing faults proactively.
2. Deploy, monitor, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
3. Oversee server vulnerability and hardware patching processes.
4. Maintain Azure cloud infrastructure.
5. Collaborate with Backup and DR as a Service solutions, performing and reporting on tests.
6. Deploy and update server-based applications and services.
7. Provide 3rd line support and liaise with 3rd party support services.
8. Administer and update VMWare environments.
9. Assist with various project work as needed.
10. Travel across offices in East Anglia, London, Kent, and the Southwest as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
1. Experience in an enterprise IT environment.
2. Proficiency in monitoring and responding to environment alerts.
3. Management of a highly available VMWare Datacenter environment.
4. Knowledge of Backup and DR systems.
5. Experience with Azure Infrastructure.
6. Hardware maintenance skills.
7. Providing 3rd line support to users.
Beneficial:
1. Familiarity with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
2. Experience with DNS, DHCP, and related services.
3. Zerto experience.
4. Skills in maintaining and patching servers to eliminate critical vulnerabilities.
