Job summary We are delighted to announce that we have a position to join our team as a Lead Practice Nurse. We have a growing list of 30,000 patients, with a diverse mix of inner city residents and students from Sheffield Hallam University. Our large expanding team consists of doctors, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, nursing team (NPs, PNs, NAs, HCA), clinical pharmacy team (2 CPs and 2 pharmacy technicians) and first contact physiotherapists. We work very closely with Sheffield Hallam University, and have a medical centre housed in the heart of the university. Main duties of the job The Lead Practice Nurse will be responsible for the leadership and professional line management of the nursing team consisting of ANPs, NP, PNs, NA and HCAs. The post holder will work alongside the senior management team in developing the nursing team and other AHPs based on local needs and the strategic agenda of primary care developments. This is a key developmental role working with the senior management team to lead the overall nursing and other AHPs clinical development and performance and ensure the right workforce is available to deliver excellent quality care to patients. They will support the achievement of all local, organisational, and national targets and standards. The post holder will provide visible leadership to nursing and other AHPs staff within the practice and ensure the planning and delivery of agreed objectives and plans. The Lead Practice Nurse will be responsible for several clinical areas such as COPD and diabetes as well as supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure. The organisation will ensure that the post holder has access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.
