Due to internal promotion, we are excited to be able to welcome a static band 6 to our Adult CF, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and Bronchiectasis Physiotherapy team, based in the Leicester Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Bronchiectasis Specialist services. We are looking for a dynamic physiotherapist with a specific interest in working within the Physiotherapy and CF/Bronchiectasis multi-disciplinary teams at Glenfield Hospital.
For CF, interventions include airway clearance, inhalation therapy, exercise assessment and prescription, breathing pattern management, basic musculoskeletal interventions, continence management, promotion of self-management and support with treatment adherence. This service is provided for adults with CF in all settings including in-patients, clinics, ward attenders, out-patients and home care. Car owner driver is essential.
For non-CF Bronchiectasis our team are in the enviable position of being able to provide a dedicated, high-quality service as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team. Interventions with this group include airway clearance, inhalation therapy, basic exercise assessment and prescription, breathing pattern management, promotion of self-management and support with treatment adherence. We cover the specialist Bronchiectasis clinic, out-patients, day case ward attenders and in-patients, ensuring high quality interventions with excellent continuity of care.
This is an exciting post in addition to the Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist, Clinical Specialist and two Band 6 physiotherapists who provide a highly specialised service to adults with CF, PCD and Bronchiectasis in Leicestershire and the wider East Midlands.
The Physiotherapy Department provides a seven day rostered service and the successful candidate will work on the weekend, bank holiday and the emergency on-call respiratory service rosters.
• To assist with specialist physiotherapy service provision to patients with Cystic Fibrosis and Bronchiectasis attending Glenfield Hospital.
• To provide comprehensive assessments and form individualised treatment plans to optimise patient outcomes and experience.
• To work with inpatients, outpatients, clinics and within patients’ homes.
• To assist with data collection and support the Advanced Practitioner and clinical specialist with the on-going development of physiotherapy service provision in line with national standards and commissioning arrangements.

About the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust:
• Be responsible for managing a complex clinical caseload from assessment to discharge/transfer of care, in order to facilitate a timely and safe discharge from hospital.
• Plan, deliver and progress treatment interventions using clinical reasoning and decision making skills in order to work towards and achieve identified patient goals.
• To facilitate annual appraisal and personal development planning for relevant members of the Physiotherapy Team.
• To participate in the induction of Physiotherapy Staff
