Teaching Personnel is currently partnering with several primary schools in Birmingham Centre to recruit highly skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants. As a HLTA, you will work alongside the class teacher, covering classes, PPA, and providing intervention and support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). It is essential to create a positive and engaging learning environment and be a positive role model for all students.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will have a passion for primary education and experience working with children aged 5-11 years. Holding a Level 4 or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification, you will work closely with the class teacher to support students and provide intervention for those with SEN. This is a full-time position during term time.
Responsibilities:
* Possessing a Level 4 teaching and learning qualification, HLTA qualification, or equivalent
* Working effectively as part of a team in the classroom, ensuring students are on track and actively engaged in learning
* Demonstrating previous experience in supporting students, particularly those with SEN or learning difficulties
* Confidently covering full classes during PPA time
* Leading intervention sessions independently for small groups
* Commitment to building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with students, their parents/carers, and other staff members
* Working closely with specific students to ensure their progress is effectively supported
Qualifications:
* Passion for expanding classroom experience and developing skills
* L4 or HLTA qualification
* Previous experience working with children aged 5-11 years
* Confident in managing full classes during PPA time
* Ability to lead intervention sessions for small groups
* Commitment to building and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues
* Enhanced Child DBS check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
