Head of Programme Management Office (PMO)
Location: Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Cambridgeshire – On site Salary: Band 8D Working Hours: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Insight Executive Group is delighted to partner with North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust (NWAFT) in recruiting for a pivotal role to support the Hinchingbrooke Hospital Redevelopment Programme (HHRP), part of the New Hospital Programme. This role offers the opportunity to play a central part in delivering the strategy for one of the UK’s key healthcare infrastructure projects.
As Head of Programme Management Office (PMO), you will lead a high-performing PMO function for the HHRP, which will transform Hinchingbrooke Hospital into a state-of-the-art facility, aligned with the NHS Hospital 2.0 standards by 2030. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the development and monitoring of business cases, driving governance, and ensuring the successful delivery of the Trust’s strategic goals. Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the PMO team to drive consistency, quality, and oversight of projects to ensure successful outcomes.
· Develop project management tools, governance frameworks, and reporting processes in alignment with national standards.
· Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Programme Director and Senior Responsible Officer.
· Implement project controls, including managing risks and ensuring delivery of business case benefits.
· Oversee financial and resource planning for the programme, ensuring value for money and timely delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
We are seeking a motivated, experienced PMO leader who can operate independently and provide strategic direction to a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will bring:
· A postgraduate degree or equivalent level of experience in programme management.
· Extensive experience leading a PMO function for a major capital or infrastructure project, preferably in the healthcare sector.
· Advanced skills in project governance, risk management, and delivery oversight.
· Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
