Ideally you will:
* Have expertise in flood and coastal risk management
* Thrive in a leadership role and enjoy mentoring and motivating a team to achieve their best
* Have a strong background in managing large-scale, complex engineering programmes
* Possess financial management skills and problem-solving abilities
* Have in-depth knowledge of legislation including the Flood and Water Management Act, the Land Drainage Act, the Coastal Protection Act, and the CDM Regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team, overseeing team performance and development
* Delivering complex engineering and flood and coastal risk management projects, ensuring that they meet cost, quality, and time requirements
* Acting as the primary contact for flood and coastal risk management and providing authoritative advice on design and project delivery
* Coordinating resources and collaborating with emergency services and other flood risk management authorities during and after flood events to ensure an effective response
* Managing and controlling project budgets to ensure value for money whilst adhering to financial limits
