Reporting directly to the Talent, Development & Inclusion Director, you’ll be leading a small team of L&D and Inclusion specialists as well as managing external partnerships with a number of key providers. You’ll be accountable for developing and owning the L&D and inclusion strategies for Whitbread, including the creation of key development programmes for high performing leaders across both Support Centre (head office) and multi-site operations, creating a development framework to continue to improve the capability of all Support Centre employees, and leading the inclusion action plan to support us in meeting our diversity targets and to continuously develop the culture of inclusion here at Whitbread. Create an overarching strategy for developing leadership and management skills and behaviours as part of a structured framework that provides the right level of training intervention and support to the right people at the right time, in line with business needs and wider plans. Lead a team of Learning & Development and D&I experts and manage external third parties to deliver exceptional learning and continue to build upon our reputation as an inclusive employer. Design and implement assessment tools and leadership capability models, building capability for line managers and HR Business Partners around talent identification & development activities. Design and deliver our learning & development framework, including core management skills with effective measurement and stakeholder engagement, linking to performance outcomes for management roles and the wider talent pipeline. Develop and deliver leadership programmes for our senior and high potential talent, aligned to our talent cycle and strategy. Own the action plan that sees Whitbread achieve the agreed annual targets for female representation and ethnic minority representation and be accountable for the creation and the publication of the gender pay gap and ethnicity pay gap reports on an annual basis, using the outputs to influence Exco and senior leaders in making changes to reduce the pay gap through greater representation at all levels of the business. Leading and co-ordinate the four employee networks to ensure they are all working towards the D&I strategy, they work in collaboration but each have their own clear strategy and action plan to drive the change for their community and measure the progress through the agreed measures. What we need: Significant experience as an L&D leader gained within a large scale, customer facing organisation. Experience of developing L&D strategy, communicating and influencing up to and including Board level. Expert knowledge and experience of the design & delivery of management and leadership development programmes and behavioural frameworks, with accountability for management skills development, and capability training design, delivery and implementation. Knowledge and credibility within the D&I space with a passion for championing inclusivity; A proven record for improving diversity and inclusion metrics would be advantageous. Experience of Line management, budget ownership, strategy development and report writing. A dynamic and pragmatic approach to problems with the ability to find solutions that can easily be turned into workable plans. Extensive stakeholder management and engagement capability at all levels, especially senior level functional leaders/directors, with the ability to build strong and sustained relationships to achieve better end results and for the purposes of leading and influencing on solutions.
