Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for effective and efficient repair of all machinery to National Standards.
2. Activities include Planned Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Equipment reliability as well as using the CMMS system for the maintenance department.
3. Optimizing equipment reliability through a continuous improvement plan and actively buying in to all Berry values with regards to Safety and training.
4. We are especially interested in candidates with electrical skills knowledge bias and who would like to use their HV knowledge on a regular basis or develop in that area with a supported training plan.
Qualifications:
1. Education: HNC/ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2. Work Experience: 3 years of related experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance or project roles.
3. Language: Fully fluent in English (verbal & written).
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Perform any and all tasks in a safe manner, keeping in mind safety on the job at all times.
2. Aware of all IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regs and Electricity at Work regulations including all safety rules applying to electrical work ensuring that safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
3. Provide vision, goals, coaching, and priorities, ensuring that safety, quality, customer service, and costs goals for the engineering and reliability function are successfully achieved.
4. Responsible for facility maintenance, ensuring optimum operation of all ancillary and peripheral systems in the plant and warehouse.
5. Use the CMMS program to provide optimum reliability to the operation of our manufacturing and ancillary systems.
6. Provide energy to the PM schedule to create a “best in class” environment.
7. Consistently seek alternatives to control and reduce spending.
8. Promote and generate improvement ideas and take responsibility to complete on time and budget.
9. Provide support to the production shift supervisor in reacting to breakdowns efficiently and successfully.
10. Competent in the use of milling machines and other workshop machinery or willing to learn.
11. Carry out day-to-day duties as required by the maintenance manager and ensure compliance.
12. Promote an environment of excellence in reliability engineering, predictive, and preventive maintenance as well as in each and every practice of the department.
13. Responsible for plant facility and ancillary services.
14. Flexible with work hours when needed to work overtime.
15. Support any project work that arises.
16. Completion of relevant records of faults and projects carried out.
17. Carry out fault diagnostics on Electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
Working Hours: 12 hours shifts - 6am to 6pm, (2 on / 3 off / 2 on / 2 off / 3 on / 2 off (alternate weekends off).
