Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Podiatrist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience in various settings including ICU, home care, and nursing homes. This role involves diagnosing and treating foot and ankle conditions, providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages, particularly seniors. The Podiatrist will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct thorough examinations of patients' feet and ankles to diagnose conditions.
2. Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
3. Perform medical procedures such as nail surgery, wound care, and orthotic fittings.
4. Administer medications as required and educate patients on proper foot care.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in settings such as public health and hospice care.
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
7. Stay updated on advancements in podiatric medicine through clinical research and continuous education.
Requirements
1. Degree in Podiatric Medicine from an accredited institution.
2. Valid licensure to practice as a Podiatrist in the relevant jurisdiction.
3. Experience in patient care, particularly within ICU or senior care environments, is highly desirable.
4. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques related to podiatry.
5. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
6. Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients from diverse backgrounds.
7. Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to best practices in podiatric care.
